VAP 68mm Center Caps for BMW-Era Wheels | 3MF + STL Files

Overview

This digital download includes a prepared 3MF file and matching STL geometry for printing a VAP 68 mm center cap for compatible BMW-era OEM wheel setups.

It is designed as a clean wheel detail for E36-era and related 1990s / early 2000s BMW builds where missing, worn or mismatched center caps make the wheel setup feel unfinished.

No generic logo sticker. No unfinished wheel center. No improvised universal insert.

Fitment

Designed for compatible 68 mm BMW-era wheel center cap openings. Fitment depends on the exact wheel model, not only the vehicle.

Before printing, measure your existing center cap and check:

• Outer cap diameter
• Retention clip geometry
• Insertion depth
• Available clearance behind the wheel face

Relevant applications may include selected BMW E36, Z3, E46 and period-correct 5×120 BMW OEM wheel setups, but compatibility must always be verified on the specific wheel.

Material & Printing

• Recommended: ASA for heat resistance and automotive exterior use
• Premium option: ASA-CF for increased stiffness and a technical surface finish
• Also suitable: PETG for easier printing and moderate exterior use
• Not recommended: PLA due to limited heat resistance in direct sunlight or on parked vehicles

Designed for FDM printing and optimized for enclosed printers such as the Bambu Lab P1S. Recommended layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm. Use sufficient wall loops around the retention features.

Installation Notes

• Test-fit the center cap carefully before paint, coating or permanent finishing.
• Do not force the center cap into position.
• Do not install if the fitment is too tight or if the retention features are under excessive stress.
• Check that the cap seats securely before road use.
